Blake Griffin Suffering From Greg Oden Curse?

Griffin will not play in any games this season

Blake Griffin was the unanimous number one pick in the 2009 NBA Draft, but since that time, Griffin has found it increasingly hard to get out on the court.  It was announced a little while ago that Griffin will undergo season-ending surgery on a broken left knee-cap, ending his rookie campaign with no game time.

The comparison to Greg Oden is that Oden was also a number one pick in the 2007 NBA Draft, but never found his way onto the court for his first season.  Since that time, Oden played in only 61 games last season before a season-ending injury, and played in 21 games this season before again suffering a season-ending injury.

It is difficult to see any athlete suffer the way these two have.  Any athlete of that caliber wants to be on the court as much as possible.  Hopefully Griffin will be able to get back onto the court for Summer League which starts in July.
